Bring evidence from webpages, PDFs and videos into one note
Connect a passage on the web, a PDF excerpt and a video clip with your own explanation. Keep the source locations so you can check them again.
Start with one question, then compare the sources
A blog post can describe a case, a PDF can explain the principle, and a video can show what happens. For example, when a metric improves but the real result gets worse, keep each source’s contribution separate before writing your conclusion.
DoCube keeps these formats in one local library. You can read and annotate them there, link a passage to another source, and search the available text across the library.
How local documents and notes are storedKeep the evidence beside your explanation
- Highlight the useful passage on the webpage. Copy its current-location URL into the note, so the link retains the place you were reading.
- Take an excerpt of the relevant PDF diagram and paste it into the note. Add your explanation beside it; use the excerpt’s source action when you need the surrounding page.
- Insert the relevant video range into a Mixed Note. Keep the clip that supports your explanation, then add text or handwriting on the same page.
The result is a note you can check: your explanation, the excerpt or clip it relies on, and a route back to the source. The original documents stay in the library.
How links return to an exact source locationFind the evidence again when you need it
Search for a distinctive term you remember. A useful result includes a text excerpt and its source; open it to inspect the passage instead of relying only on a document title. Your note and the source documents can appear as separate results when their indexed text matches.
- Scanned PDFs need OCR before their text can be searched.
- Video speech needs a usable transcript; indexing is not visual recognition of every frame.
- A source link needs the document to be available on the device. Editing the source may affect its saved location.
Check the workflow with a small set of your own files
Try one webpage, one PDF and one short video. Create a note with a source link, an excerpt and a clip. Reopen it, follow each source action and search for one term from each document. This checks whether the workflow fits your material before importing a large collection.
